MAXUM EDMUNDO LIMITED EDITION

The first NZ cigar edition was a creation from Bart Burgers a whisky and cigar aficionado in cooperation with Kurt Brandt from Isthmus Cigars in Costa Rica. The selection of the leaves to be used for this individually designed cigar started more then a year back to create that particular flavor and aroma Bart was after.

"We wanted a cigar that was very consistent in it's flavor without running too hot and become bitter at the end, with enough flavor to match with a good single malt without being to overpowering."

After a few trail runs we came up with the following leaf mixture using tobacco raised from Cuban seeds from special tobacco plantations in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. This gave us nutty, spicy and still soft balance which is one of the results of long term natural fermentation.

Having the Maxum rolled to or specific needs was our next step. "To often have I come across too tight rolled cigars which forced me to 'suck' to hard and gave me an instant head spin....no mater how strong the cigar." The Maxum is a hand rolled cigar which is very easy to smoke with a very very good draw, which also results in a better consistent burn.
